<smaller>My baby will be 8 weeks old and this morning my period started.

I have been having crampy feelings for a few days and thought it might be

comming but hoped it wouldn't. I am still breastfeeding every 2-3 hours

in the day and at least 2 times (often more)in the night. I was so hoping

that I wouldn't get this monthly pain for awile. Anyone els had there

period start yet? It is kinda deperesing to have it happen so soon. I

thought that breastfeeding would atleast postpone it. Guess I am not one

of the lucky that can use breastfeeding as birthcontrol.

Consider yourself lucky. You will not be fooled into thinking you are not

fertile while breastfeeding. I know a couple of women who have a second child

pretty close because they thought they couldn't get pregnant. You can ovulate at

anytime before a period ever starts. Breastfeeding helps to space children but

it is not reliable birth control. I had my first period with Zaid when he was

about 3 months. It didn't get regular again until he was 7 months. You may

still have some months with no period. :)

that make sense? `like very thick and brown(sorry to be so graphic!) and now,

at over 4 months post, i havent had it since! so who knows!!
