Guest guest Posted May 15, 2010 Report Share Posted May 15, 2010 I have been trying to get a Dr. to approve IVIG for my almost 12 yr old for the last 2 yrs. No Dr. has been serious enough to help us pursue this, although his IGG comes back abnormal over and over again. He also has PANDAS and seizures. I feel like we are running out of time and really need an answer. We live in TX. Is the Dr you saw anywhere near TX? saw an Immunologist We recently had to break down and see a mainstream immunologist for our son. He has CVID, Hypothyroidism, PANDAS, and a Seizure Disorder. He has been receiving IVIG for his immune deficiency and it helps him tremendously. Our insurance would only cover it if it was written by someone "in- network." So we saw a Pediatric Immunologist and we were pleasantly surprised. He drew vaccine titers plus an IgG level and got IVIG covered quickly for us. He did not make an issue of vaccines at all. He told us at the first visit that he would do everything he could get to us our IVIG. He was actually respectful to us. I just wanted to share our experience with this in case anyone else out there can learn from it. Up until then I had avoided mainstream doctors like the plague because we had such horrible experiences with them in the past. Pamela -- Toni ------ Mind like a steel trap...
