Here's an example: In a college class I had several years ago, the instructor put a fast video clip up on the screen that flashed a bunch of regular playing cards, one at a time. After the video, she asked how many saw hearts? and hands went up, spades, etc....... then she asked who saw triangles. My hand and a couple others went up. Others in the room said there weren't any, I said there were, and they were black. They didn't see what was right in front of them because they didn't believe anything other than the main four shapes would be in there, get it? She had to replay the video before some of the people would believe there were triangles in the cards, even after being TOLD they were in there, because they honestly DID NOT see them. Some call a paradigm shift a " light bulb moment " . How's that for psych 101? LOL Cristy
