They taste good, and most have no fat (before the cream cheese is added, that is). But it's time for a reality check. An average bagel, not even the largest NY bagel, is equivalent to three to four slices of bread, or 45-60 grams of carbohydrate. No wonder people think bagels raise their glucose! But you can have your bagel and eat it too! Here's some common-sense tips to enjoy this breakfast staple: list of 3 items .. Cut bagels in two and eat just half at a time. .. Use light cream cheese spreads and spread lightly ..
