Guest guest
Hi. Kara had a cold about 1 week before Thanksgiving. Everything cleared up nicely except the cough that lingered and began to taper off last week. Thursday she had a low grade temp and the cough seemed to resurface, was never completely gone. I took her to peds and they want to treat her for a sinus infection. The basis of their decision was the cough never really went away and now she is presenting with the low grade fever. I pretty much agree with them. They ordered her the antibiotic OMNICEF (cephalosporin family). 6mls once a day x 14 days. Now we have ongoing yeast issues and I am very stand offish about the use of antibiotics. The last time she was on AMOXICILLIN about 2.5 years ago for strep throat and she broke out into hives. She has never been on this medication or any other since then. I am currently treating her with Oil of Oregano 3 drops twice a day as recommended by a natural doctor that I know. I am really on the fence about using the antibiotic, but of course I don't want to cause a worsening of the sinus infection. Any ADVICE would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
