Then the RT3 must break down adn flal out of the T3 receptors it is binding and thus blocking T3 from reaching. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
What about the not sleeping? I know it takes 8 to 12 weeks to clear RT3. I still don't understand why I felt something on NutriMeds even though I already had RT3 and nothing on T3 only. Thanks, Donna > > Because it takes TIME to clear RT3. Guest guest
I switched because I had a really, really bad crash on NutriMeds and everyone said that was because of low adrenals. So I had saliva test and blood tests and they were right. My adrenals were low and so is my ferritin plus I have RT3 with a 7.25 ratio. So I supplemented HC and iron very well for a month, my temps were stable and I began the T3 for the RT3. Now I can't sleep and that's not doing any good for my adrenals. I think it's the avecil. No avecil in NutriMeds and I felt something. Avecil in compounded T4/T3, felt nothing. Avecil in Naturthroid or at least cellulose, and I felt nothing but mean and bitchy on that. I really think it's the avecil and I specifically told the compounder NO avecil. Guest guest
Ferritin, Serum - 24 Range: 10 - 291. I know it's very low. But would that keep me from sleeping? It didn't before. It was lower and not treated at all when I took Nutrimeds which was before I did any adrenal or iron support and although I crashed big time, I felt great for the first 5 or 6 hours and I slept OK. I swear I think it's the avecil. It's the only common denominator in everything that hasn't worked, synthetic T4/T3 did nothing at all and Naturthroid with cellulose - I don't know if it's avecil exactly, made me a nasty, angry, depressed lunatic. Nutrimeds with no cellulose or avecil got into my cells in a feel good way, even though I had RT3, low adrenals and low ferritin. Although I chart my doses and times, temps and pulse, I didn't note my sleep on the synthetic or the Naturthroid. I have such a hard time sleeping anyway, I didn't think it was related until this T3 treatment. Everybody else says T3 helps them sleep. Me, I have to throw everything in the arsenal at myself, including booze which I HATE, to get 3 to 5 hours. I think the avecil is doing something, preventing the T3 from being utilized, I don't know what or how. It's the only thing I can think of that makes logical sense because it's been in everything that hasn't worked for me in some way or another. > > How low was your ferritin? Guest guest
I was using Avecil as a filler for my compounding thyroid, but it made me sick with diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. Called the pharmacist, now they make it without, and I asked him how long does it take to get out of my system, he told me a couple of days, and he was right. Guest guest
So as far as the sleep goes, I'm screwed unless I stop the RT3 which I can't because I can't afford to wait till ferritin which I know can take a year or adrenals which can take forever are fixed. Either I slowly fix them all at once and live with this 3 to 5 hour sleep or I resign myself to not getting well enough to work or function for a year or more. I can't do that. I live alone, support myself, I can't afford to not function for a year or two. I guess I'll have to do the best I can on very little sleep. And stress dose on the HC. What else can I do? Do you have a different game plan? Thanks for all your help today. I know how busy you are.
