Pain Assessment Competency

A colleague has asked me to post this question. During a JCAHO consultant mock

survey at her hospital the physical therapists were asked how they were deemed

competent to assess a patient's pain. My friend, the department manager has been

asked by HR to develop a competency for the physical therapy staff in pain

assessment.

Can anyone give us some help?
