Guest guest
Someone offered: " No, you cannot delete a single reading. Yes, the delete setting is in the set up mode. The reason for not being able to delete a single reading would be that a person could delete the results he/she did not like and therefore creating a false record of what is truly going on which inevitably would hurt them. This is not to say you would do it, but it is a safeguard. " I have always found this a very offensive attitude among meter makers. I have speculated meters were originally sold to doctors in part based on this snoope function. They did not believe what their patients were saying or even if they were testing at all. The meter had results that could not befudged. This seems to me part of the older attitude of doctor as remote parent trying to provide daily direction. It goes against promoting user self responsibility and enpowerment that makes for a successful treatment. In fact the user is the best placed person and in fact the best person to provide daily treatment and the meter should not enter into the scene unless the user wants it to for their own reasons. If meters were to be user friendly it would allow their use in whatever manner they wanted. For example, several bad readings due to several common reasons known to all meter users would find the average over time feature worthless. With several doctors under my belt I have never been asked to bring my meter for downloading. If asked I would refuse and give serious consideration to firing that doctor if they had a problem with my decision. XB IC|XC
