Guest guest
I was seen thursday 12 for my feet which decided they want to double in sizes, Joy joy, fun, fun first it was only one then the other one felt left out and swell too. They check my urine and blood and call my neph doctor at 9pm. The results looks about the same as the have been running so he didn't think I needed to be admitted. They gave me higher level pain killers, and sent me home. Friday I spent mostly dope up, unfortually I had to do my grocery shopping (only day to get a ride). So my feet was not impress. I went to bed early and didn't wake till late sat. Got up and got a big dinner started (took naps in between) and went to sleep about 4pm didn't wake until aobut 24 hous later. only then for a few hours and back to bed till 5am monday. So my weekend was pain killers and sleep. I was just so tired and couldn't stay awake. But good news is my feet are now back to normal sizes, but the toes and left foot still in pain. The left foot not liking any pressure on it. So ya more pain killers so I stand and get my house clean. I am still waiting on my neph to call since i have call twice and he hasn't been in. The er told me to call him and one of the other in er told me he was going to call me. I am still lost as usually. Well sorry so long, but had to get out to people who would understand. Still tired but that nothing new. Well I hope all is doing good and keep smiling. Martha
Guest guest
Hi Martha, I commend you for your humor inspite of what's going on. Goes to show that you have a very good outlook in life. I hope you feel better. Is that swelling of your feet caused by IgAN? > >Reply-To: iga-nephropathy >To: iga-nephropathy >Subject: update from er >Date: Tue, 17 Feb 2004 16:32:39 -0000 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Originating-IP: 24.93.145.206 >X-Sender: wldfireflower6969@... >Received: from n2.grp.scd.yahoo.com ([66.218.66.75]) by mc3-f35.hotmail.com >with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.6824); Tue, 17 Feb 2004 08:37:51 -0800 >Received: from [66.218.66.97] by n2.grp.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 17 Feb >2004 16:33:00 -0000 >Received: (qmail 88465 invoked from network); 17 Feb 2004 16:32:53 -0000 >Received: from unknown (66.218.66.218) by m14.grp.scd.yahoo.com with QMQP; >17 Feb 2004 16:32:53 -0000 >Received: from unknown (HELO n33.grp.scd.yahoo.com) (66.218.66.101) by >mta3.grp.scd.yahoo.com with SMTP; 17 Feb 2004 16:32:53 -0000 >Received: from [66.218.67.248] by n33.grp.scd.yahoo.com with NNFMP; 17 Feb >2004 16:32:42 -0000 >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jHaXogSWQFtsBpV83STMjz4 >X-eGroups-Return: >sentto-2346229-24495-1077035578-cyncparas=hotmail.com@... >X-Apparently-To: iga-nephropathy >Message-ID: <c0tfn7+db00eGroups> >User-Agent: eGroups-EW/0.82 >X-Mailer: Yahoo Groups Message Poster >X-eGroups-Remote-IP: 66.218.66.101 >X-Yahoo-Profile: wldfireflower6969 >Mailing-List: list iga-nephropathy ; contact >iga-nephropathy-owner >Delivered-To: mailing list iga-nephropathy >Precedence: bulk >List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:iga-nephropathy-unsubscribe > >Return-Path: >sentto-2346229-24495-1077035578-cyncparas=hotmail.com@... >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 17 Feb 2004 16:37:51.0124 (UTC) >FILETIME=[6254C540:01C3F574] > >I was seen thursday 12 for my feet which decided they want to double >in sizes, Joy joy, fun, fun first it was only one then the other one >felt left out and swell too. Guest guest
, thanks I tried to keep humor but admit some days its hard. Yes, most of the swelling is from iga. Most days its only mild swelling that was the first time in a while that they double on me, which is werid cause i do not work, so most of my time is sitting at home or sleeping.lol. Right now I take 120 mg of a water pill. martha > Hi Martha, > > I commend you for your humor inspite of what's going on. Goes to show that > you have a very good outlook in life. Guest guest
Strictly-speaking, as I've posted before, IgAN itself doesn't cause swelling, since there's plenty of kidney function to handle fluids until a person is pretty close to needing dialysis. What does cause swelling is advanced renal failure (which the IgAN eventually causes), and heavy proteinuria, at any stage. Heavy proteinuria is actually not that common with IgAN (as it is with some other kidney diseases), but whenever it does happen, things happen in the body that will promote swelling (cells become " leaky " ). Another possibility that can go along with all the above is eating too much sodium. With any kidney disease, the ability of the kidneys to handle the sodium we eat can be impaired. For some people, this happens earlier than for others. The more sodium there is, the more water will be retained by the body (as the body tries its best to keep the overall sodium concentration within a normal range. It does this by retaining more fluid to dilute the sodium, and when this happens, the extra fluid usually ends up in the feet just because of gravity. People who have that problem and do eat too much sodium will usually have high blood pressure too, since they have more fluid in circulation for the heart to pump. It's easy to overeat sodium, because it's hidden in so many products. Pierre Re: update from er > , > thanks I tried to keep humor but admit some days its hard.
