Guest guest
I was wondering what other IRFs are doing regarding the 3 hour rule when there is limited staffing due to inclement weather. We have had a few snow storms this year in which many of the therapists were not able to make it into work. The management team has been struggling with how best to prioritize patients so that they all meet the 3 hours, 5 days within 7 days. This is VERY trying and time consuming and frustrating. I would love to hear how other facilities are dealing with this. What do you base your priority list on? Do you add an extra day of therapy? Does Medicare understand that we have no control over the weather and will they accept any missed time due to inclement weather? Any suggestions/references/resources would be greatly appreciated!
