Guest guest
My 2 1/2 year old has had loose stools with mucous and infrequent traces of blood for a year now. She was diagnosed with IBD and she's now on meds, which don't seem to be doing anything. I still question the dx. Anyway, I keep thinking about this diet, but I'm saving it for a last resort! My kid is picky enough! Here's my question...I recently took her off dairy for the third time for a trial. She was dx with a mild milk allergy last year. However, each time I take her off, she worsens. Her stools are looser, more frequent and I notice more blood. She doesn't even eat a ton of dairy products since she drinks soy milk. So now she's without her yogurt and her occasional cheese (as well as the dairy in bread products). I give her acidophillus powder as a supplement since I know yogurt may have been helping her. I just don't understand why she'd worsen with the diet change! Any thoughts? It would be greatly appreciated!
