TIME

One of today?s biggest challenges is to take time to smell the roses.

We live in a 24/7 on-demand society, wired and connected at all times.

The office expects us to be there full-time.

The family expects us to be there full time.

We fill even the smallest perceived void with activities or

pseudo-activities (like watching TV or gaming).

The demands that others place on us and that we place on ourselves are

more than a sane person should ever have to support.

Take time to smell the roses.

Lie down if you must.

Close your eyes if you must.

Lock the door if you must.

Hide your cell phone under your pillow if you must.

But take the time ? make the time.

Hello everyone,

Finally being able to read and hopefully send mail out again. I learned it was time to stop and smell the roses, basically just slow down and make more time for daughter not long after my diagnosis. The day before my diagnosis I had her admitted to a local psychiactric hospital. She was having a lot of emotional problems and acting out, The same day my younger brother was admitted to the same hospital after trying to committ suicide. Great couple of days there. Anyway, with all of this going on, that was what I learned, to slow down smell the roses, spend time with the people you love and to be there for your children no matter what the reason.

I still believe that to this day. I'm sure I've told you, she's doing great now. Lives on her own, works full time. Took a semester off from college, talked her into going back to school this fall semester. Told here I would help her pay for whatever she needs. Now I just need to find a job. Wish me luck.

Thanks everyone.

Tina
