we have done LDN for years and LOVE it, we lost 29 allergies now total on it, and increase in lang, better sleep, better socialiation, more play, more appropriate. it was what pushed us over the edge to recovery. he is not sick anywhere near what he was before either.

LDN vs. Spironolactone? I have 2 PANDAS boys...

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on these two meds and has anyone tried both for immune modulation?I have been giving my boys spironolactone with great results, but I wonder if LDN is more effective or safer. Does anyone know? Thanks,

my son did really bad on LDN. now he has being a week on spirolactone and he is very distracted, stimming a lot and more agressive, do I need to wait until I see better results? the fact that he did not do well on LDN (he was on it for 4 months) he will not do well on spirolactone?thanks,Subject: Re: LDN vs. Spironolactone? So far I love Spironolactone! ! It was prescribed b/c my sons have pandas and also my 5 yo's neopterin/biopterin were elevated, indicating brain inflammation.

What I have seen is more appropriate socialization, much less OCD, irritability and depression, and separation anxiety.

My 5 yo is 50 lbs so that is his target dose, but we started out with 25 mg the first month, then increased to 37.5mg the next month - that is when I noticed the huge difference. we are supposed to now increase to 50 but honestly I don't see a reason to, I am happy with the results I have seen so for now I will not increase.

My 2 yo is taking 25 mg, as he is only 28 lbs. I have not seen as dramatic of a result with him, but he has some other issues that are clouding the picture (bacteria of the gut, yeast, etc...). For now I have noticed a better sleeping pattern, less separation anxiety (doesn't scream bloody murder when I put him in the crib, doesn't want to be held constantly) and a little less irritability.

For both of them, spironolactone seems to have reduced their fequency of BM's but I wouldn't say they are constipated. However, I have beenquite vigilent in this area so as not to let it occur b/c that tends to be a side effect of this drug. Some kids become quite impacted if you don't take precautions. I have increased Vit C and magnesium and they are ok so far.

Good luck, and I would say give it a try!

We've done both. LDN was the last thing I dropped before switching to Yasko

about 3 yrs ago. We got increased interaction from it and I liked it. We tried

spironolactone and initially we got increased pretend play but the constipation

was so bad I had to stop it.

We are going to start LDN cream. Is that what you used and what was the dose? Mine is in ml. How long do you do it? Thanks.

I've been reading your reports on LDN Christel and thinking we may need to try it again.
