Guest guest
Keep in mind, I, and almost all of us on the list, are not doctors. IMO, dance away! And, lose weight! Many type 2 diabetics are able to control their blood sugar with diet and exercise. Not an easy task, granted, but it's what it comes down to. Dave God doesn't hate sinners, just sin! Worried my last 2 bg readings were high Hi all, I'm a little worried and not sure how to get my bg level down. Last nights reading two hours after dinner was 250 and fasting number this morning was 184. These are kind of high for me. I've been in the 95 to 120 range for fasting numbers and between 120 to 150 for the other testings. Any ideas? I'm going to do a little dancing to Abba and see if that will bring down the levels. Okay, start laughing because its going to look real funny this 6 foot and 350 pound guy dancing around the living room lol. Guest guest
Excercise will bring the blood sugar down. Dancing is one way. A gentle moving of the muscles. Guest guest
Hey ricky, No ne is going to see you and that kind of exercise is good for you. But remember, if you don't know, that if your BG is over about 250, exercise can actually rise it more. I wonder what yu ate for dinner? That might be the reason our sugars are so high. Also, if your sugar was high before dinner and then you ate some carbs, it would raise it more and make it stay up-especially if you are not producing enough insulin of your own. This is why it would be good for you to see an endo. Your internist might not know what kind of tests to do to see how much insulin your body is making, if any. Guest guest
Ricky, You are a lucky man. Since you are a chef, you can melt those pounds away and get control of your blood sugar levels by eating the right things. You should also read my repost to this list. Here is what I recommend: Eat two or three veggie omlets per day and eat at least two gigantic salads every day, if not three. Have ham or steak with each if you like. The only thing you cannot do is use refined carbohydrate foods like any thing made with flour, corn meal, fruit juice and sugars of any kind. Put into that salad or omlet all the peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, radishes, celery, cabbage, and most any thing else you might like. Lay off the bread, and fried potatoes, and rice. Be sure to eat plenty and fill up. A satiated man is a happy man. There are fewer carbs in a cup of whole milk than there is in a cup of 1% milk, 2%milk, and skim milk. By the way you might ask your doctor to prescribe Lantus, a long-acting insulin, which you take by a syringe. Now read my repost. Guest guest
That does not sound very good. I can visualize you dancing around your livingroom. If it were mine, I could notvisualise that. Well, I guess you won't be doing the rootbeer dance. If you are not sure what that is, it is a drink up here. Terrie with Eunice who just came back from a nice walk from the bus stop. I picked up a friend who is going to be staying with me. Well, better get out of here. Worried my last 2 bg readings were high Hi all, I'm a little worried and not sure how to get my bg level down.
