This is what I use on my son, who is intolerant of lots of supplements,

including other Vitamin Cs I've tried. He does fine with this one. I use

TwinLabs AllergyC and get it from my health food store.

Have you tried a vit C from sago palm. Some who don't tolerate others do ok

with this. SI was told I

should be giving him 250mg of Vitamin C 4x/day. So far I have not found a

vitamin C he can tolerate. I am about to try a new one but am not sure he will

tolerate that much of it if at all. Will that be an issue if he can't?

It is a hard job to find supplements our kids can handle I wanted

you to read a paper on line called Understanding Autism by

Jepson MD, at cbcutah.com It helped with my confidents that I was

doing the right thing... My son has his best days when chelating.

Have you tried TwinLab Allergy-C Caps? They are buffered and corn-free from

sago palm. My sons both have trouble with corn derived products, but seem

to handle this one just fine...

[ ] Chelation & Vitamins

My son is 8yrs old & appx 50lbs. He'll be starting chelation soon & is on

multiple supplements. I want to make sure he's going to be on all he should

for this. I was told I should be giving him 250mg of Vitamin C 4x/day. So far

I have not found a vitamin C he can tolerate. I am about to try a new one but

am not sure he will tolerate that much of it if at all. Will that be an issue

if he can't?

I will be adding in Vitamin E, as was also suggested, which I hope won't be a

problem for him. The dry caps I have are 400IU each; I was told he should

have at least 500IU/day. What is the max on Vitamin E for a child my son's

age & size (so I know how to dose)?

Lastly, he gets 250mg (total)/day of magnesium taurate. I was told he should

have much more than this, but when I try to increase, even in small dosages

several times/day, he gets diahrea. Will he be fine on the dosage he is

getting?

Thanks in advance,

Michele

Is that what it's derived from? If so, I haven't been able to find it yet.

Thanks,

Michele

The one I was using was from Beet, not corn. Can that cause issues for some

as well?

Thanks,

Michele

Hi,

Dr. Jepson is my daughter's DAN! doctor. He is an emergency room doc who

works two days a week at a non-profit clinic he started. His son was

diagnosed autistic and his wife finally got him to believe that his son could

be helped by medical attention. Dr. Jepson was trained (he flew down to see

her) by Dr. Amy Holmes. Dr. Jepson is new to this whole thing and he has

been doing this whole thing one year or so, I believe. That said, he is

young and energetic and willing to try new things. I told him I was not

going to follow the Dan! chelation schedule, but I would use Andy's protocol.

He said fine and then the next time he talked about doing a study to compare

the two protocols. He has been very cooperative. He calls things into by

pharmacy if I request them and he seems to be OK with my self-directed

stance.

Just thought you might like to know more about him.

I use Solaray Calcium Citrate Supreme, which also contains Vitamin C

and a few other vitamins, and it is the only vitamin C that my son

tolerates. It seems to work just fine for us.
