- would you be willing to share some of your juicing recipes (the most

palatable ones:)!)? My son is very picky - I bought a juicer and have been

unsuccessful in getting him to try anything.

Also - what do you flavor the gelatin with?

thanks

Yes, actually, I have been working on a 'pdf' of the juicer juices I use for

drinking as well as for recipes. I just haven't finished it. LOL!

Is your child picky just with juicer juice or with all foods? If it's all foods

-- Zinc (mono-methionine 20-50 mg for 35lb, 3yr old) solved this problem. I had

it compounded thru Specialty Compounding, and sneak it in his juice. It took

about 3 weeks supplementing, and now my child eats salad, broccoli, and all

sorts of vegetables - prior to that, he ate the 5 substitute things that I

started with when we went gf/cf.

If juicer juice is the problem -- go slow. It took me a long time and my child

still prefers his " juice " with 1/2 juicer juice. He will drink a full on juicer

juice if there isn't anything else, but I think it's thick, and I think he

prefers it thinner. I took his juice and added 1 tablespoon until he balked at

it. It took a couple of months, but he finally took to it. (and if he balked,

I cut the juice in half and filled w/his juice or water to not waste it.)

One of my 'base' recipes (makes a good amount) is 1/2 pineapple, 1/2 lemon

(peeled yellow stuff off), 1/2 " ginger (peeled), 2 kiwi (hard ends cut off), 2

pears (w/seeds cut out). -- then I add other things like Kale (hulk juice),or

Cilantro (small amounts), or parsley or Cranberry (great for urinary tract!),

apples (awesome for so much!), carrots, spinach, limes, mint -- the combos are

limitless.

If you screw up a recipe and it tastes like yuck, add grapes. Green grapes make

everything taste good or at least palatable.

My personal favorite is oranges and pineapple w/splash of unsweetened cranberry

juice over ice and w/sparkling water.

Pineapple and pears are great for digestion. Lemon is great for the liver.

Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory, Kiwi very high in vitamin C.

I use white grape juice and unflavored knox gelatin for " jello. " When juicing

to make jello do not use pineapple, ginger, kiwi, lemon or lime. I have found

they don't let it 'jel'.
