Guest guest
You sound like your doing a great job. You are a very good mother. Searching and trying to help is what matters. Your son is lucky to have a mommy who cares so much. Have you checked his hearing lately. Hearing can slowly get worse over time and autism can mask the fact that it is happening. Even if in the past you had it done it cant hurt to make sure. I don't mean with just any audiologist. I mean one who has experience with kids specifically. Maybe even one who has worked with special needs kids. Just because he can seem to hear sounds doesn't mean he can unscramble what is being said. It's called auditory neuropathy. If he seems to understand enough to follow directions and seems to understand what is being said but just cant get the words out then it could be apraxia. Either way he will need communication so pecs is a good start but if his motor skills are good then maybe sign language could help. I know you want him to speak but I talked to this guy a while back and he told me that when his son was 8 yrs old and still not talking he introduced sign language and with in a few months his son started using words. I thought I would share that because it gave me hope when I heard it. I spoke to his son on the phone and he is 13 now. He could talk good enough to ask me if he could come over and play video games with my son. Just some ideas hope it helps. Guest guest
Can I ask how much HBOT you did (hard or soft and how many dives?) also- what kind and how long did you chelate?. These were HUGE interventons for us but we did ALOT of them. Also do you have an antifungal? The first words were ever heard were our daughter doing the alphabet A-Z and counting 1-10 4 days after starting Ketoconozole. Keri My little guy is 7 & still non-verbal it kills me so much. I am also in the same situation with a 7 year old non verbal child who has done everything and know I am still missing something. Guest guest
Quantum Neurology. Dr. is the founder.Google it and watch a video on his site. My dd doctor was trained under Dr.G for two years and does a good job.My dd loves to go see him.He uses a LED light ,which is red cold laser .The simple explanation I got is nervous system loves red light. The light affects cells, heals them, retrains them to communicate to each other better and makes new connections if old ones were broken or makes them faster so the process delay is going be shorter and slowly will disappear with more treatments. What I see with my dd is pretty amazing and she is able to hold the ground on the treatment almost every time b/c she has good support for detox with binders, antifungal, antiviral, td- glutathione, mb-12+folinic acid shots every day and sauna twice a day.Plus we do AC chelation every weekend and lots of supplements. The doc said that she does not have to repeat the same treatments b/c her detox is working pretty well. I see progress in all areas and her six therapists report nice progress.Like in reading she started to go pretty quickly throur her site words so we added a lot more new ones. With oral-motor exer. she is getting stronger and harder sounds for her like F,H are started to come in easily. Her second SLT is working on connected speech, we see her twice a week and the data shows great progress(I am there as well so I hear all the new words that are not chopped up in syllables). She is more aware what is going on and tries to communicate more.... Her gross motor skills are bad But PT is saying she is more coordinated now and does her excer. well... I have to go now.. I hope it helps, Natasha Still non-verbal, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? My little guy is 7 & still non-verbal it kills me so much. What am I doing wrong? Guest guest
My son was non-verbal when he was 7. What help us is oral-motor exercise and prompt. We are not on any diet. We did a lot of things when he was 3-6 but no speech. When he has the speech was the time we don't use any supplements. He still has severe aprxia which makes his speech hard to understand especial when he rushes through his words but at least he can communicate his basic needs. The reading also helps his speech out. When he was 5, he knows hundrs of words but can't say any of them. Today he says words when he reads. I started to give my son Vinpocinton and hope him has better and clear speech. Please contact off line if you want to talk as I was in your situation 2 years ago. Guest guest
my son turned 13 last mo. still non verbal. when he was younger, bothered me a lot. did everything from therapeutic to biomedical. so, it's not you. sometimes it is what it is. i was told that a lot of kids when they reach puberty they all of a sudden begin to talk. well, hasnt happened to us yet, if ever. i have learned to focus my attention on other modes of communication in meantime. my son can access most everything you bring him. recently recd a dynavox. he knows some signs, an expert on PECS (will make his own even), and makes his demands well known. he can point to what he wants and guide you to things too. if something hurts him, he points to the spot and will even bring me the bactine as the appropriate medicine. a few word approximations (bye, out, hi). i'm still hopeful as i b elieve in miracles but i dont stress on it anymore. best to you, vicki Still non-verbal, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Guest guest
I tried at Chrsitmas S boulardii and digestive enzymes with a yeast formula and both of these gave Nyla spontaneous speech. I continue to give her these. I also did cutler's chelation which also seemed to give her more spontaneous language. I will try another weekend this weekend. Guest guest
Nina you've done nothing wrong. You didn't mention anything regarding dietary interventions on your list of what you've tried. We follow Body Ecology Diet. Are you still running a Son-Rise playroom? How many hours a week is your child in the room? What courses have you taken at the Option Institute? > > > my son turned 13 last mo. still non verbal. when he was younger, bothered me a lot. did everything from therapeutic to biomedical. so, it's not you. sometimes it is what it is. i was told that a lot of kids when they reach puberty they all of a sudden begin to talk. well, hasnt happened to us yet, if ever. i have learned to focus my attention on other modes of communication in meantime. my son can access most everything you bring him. recently recd a dynavox. he knows some signs, an expert on PECS (will make his own even), and makes his demands well known. he can point to what he wants and guide you to things too. if something hurts him, he points to the spot and will even bring me the bactine as the appropriate medicine. a few word approximations (bye, out, hi). i'm still hopeful as i b elieve in miracles but i dont stress on it anymore. > > best to you, vicki > > > > > > > Still non-verbal, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? > > > > > > > > My little guy is 7 & still non-verbal it kills me so much. Guest guest
Is your son a gut kid? Chronic diahrea or constipation? Antibiotics, Hbot, diet, and ldm-100 worked well for us. We also did biofilm protocol. My son is a total gut kid. Every time we find something to help his gut, we get more language. Trying to get rid of existing chronic infection now without antibiotics. Tricky! We are working on immune system as well. Have you done a hair analysis? That gives you mineral ratios, which helps alot. Getting those balanced out is important. My son has low thyroid funtion and stressed adrenals as do most of our kids. I have recently been supporting those and it is helping. Good luck to you! Pray about it! God will help you find recovery.
