Guest guest
Can anyone recommend a good reverse osmosis water filter? I'm also looking for a showerhead water filter, as well. Thanks! Soraya
Guest guest
Water filters Can anyone recommend a good reverse osmosis water filter? I'm also looking for a showerhead water filter, as well. Thanks! Soraya Since you brought up reverse osmosis, I figured I would chime in with something a naturopathic doctor told me last week. He said that reverse osmosis water is not a smart choice because the water is TOO ACIDIC after going through this process. Anyone have any feedback on it? Guest guest
I use Filmtech membrane and happy with it. When it comes to Ph, reverse osmosis does not make the water more acidic. I check it with litmus paper occasionaly. Tap water is already acidic ( I live in Turkey though). So, I put alkalizing drops to my son's water ( I cannot afford doing it for entire family:)) to make it neutral or slightly alkaline. Guest guest
Did the naturopathic doc recommend a different type of filter instead? Guest guest
I have changed the filter (filmtech) again yesterday and did the ph test couple minutes ago. Tap water ph 6.5, filtered water 6.2 . As far as my research with the companies, Filmtech is the best in terms of purity. Keep in mind that, filters also filter out good minerals from the water, so you definitely need to get them from supps or food.

Guest guest
the ro water is very acid, esp after sitting for a day or two. i had thought of mixing it in w/ some of my city water because it is way too alkaline to drink. ( i think at the end of the water treatment process it is too acidic, so they dump some lye in it). now i just go to a friend's house and get her well water to drink. the pH is perfect. it tastes good, but, it has never been tested.it's a dilemna. To: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Sent: Mon, January 3, 2011 7:42:01 AMSubject: Re: Water filters Did the naturopathic doc recommend a different type of filter instead? Guest guest
Can you taste the acidity? We put our RO water in a pitcher and it sits for a day or two and I don't notice any difference in the taste. Where can I find the sticks to test the water? wan washington wrote:   the ro water is very acid, esp after sitting for a day or two. i had thought of mixing it in w/ some of my city water because it is way too alkaline to drink.
