Hi,

Hi my daughter is 4 1/2 and has sensory issues and general processing

difficulties. We were recommended the diet by my daughter's

physician and physician's assistant. We just started 3-4 days ago

and we are still making adjustment.

Are either organic heavy cream (which is 100% cream with no

proteins) or rice protein powder legal in the diet?

Thanks. Cristie Carlisle

Christie,

The cream would have to be made into SCD yogurt first. No rice protein

powder....... no rice, period. It's a grain and all grains and grain-based

starches are out on SCD.

Patti, mom to Katera, SCD for just over one year.

Welcome to the list Christie,

>> Are either organic heavy cream (which is 100% cream with no

>> proteins)

Heavy cream still needs to be made into yogurt cream as per the

directions in " Breaking the Vicious Cycle (BTVC) " . You can find

online instructions at

http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/yoghurt/yoghur

t.htm Although there is less lactose in it you still want to

breakdown the remaining lactose in suitable carbs.

>> or rice protein powder legal in the diet?

Rice protein powder is not legal on the diet. In fact Elaine does

not like protein powder at all (please see

http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/protein_powd

er.htm and

http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/pea_flour.ht

m ) and prefers us to get protein from natural sources - meat,

cheese, nuts etc. For those whose kids aren't too fond of the usual

sources there are lots of great sneaky recipes at

http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html Chicken pancakes, muffins etc.
