You should be able to waive that, too.In CA, you have a waiver signature for vax and underneath that, a waiver signature for TB testing.

I know it probably is safe - but is it safe to get my son a TB test for school? He is starting preschool and I have already given them the letter opting out of vaccines but they said he needs a TB test. The TB test doesn't have aluminum or some metal in it? I don't trust doctors.

Thanks!

I gave the school a letter with my signature that quoted the california code and said due to my beliefs I request an exemption for immunizations. The person at the school read it and said he still needed his TB test. Is the test bad? Honestly I don't want to ever put a needle into my son's arm if I can help it, unless his DAN doc is drawing blood.

No, you don't. Flip the blue card over. Under the vax waiver is the TB test waiver. You need 2 signatures on the back of the card. It's easy to miss if you aren't reading everything on the page since you're only expecting to need to sign once. It's there. You don't need to give the school a letter or quote the code, we have a standard blue card that is the waiver for all schools.

Don't know where, but have heard of regression after TB screen. I wouldn't do it!

I think that there is a blood test you may be able to do instead of the regular TB test. You should ask your DAN if he knows about it. --------------- Ezorsezor@... I signed waivers for both my kids here in CA. I looked up the ingredients of the

TB shot and did not feel comfortable with it, especially considering how

sensitive my kids are. If your child has an allergic reaction to it (like my

sister always did) and looks positive, even though it's not, then they will

want to do an x-ray, exposing them to radiation (not good option either, IMO).

I am not doing it. My son doesn't have TB but he does have allergies to everything on his skin, band-aids make him break out. Thanks everyone!
