Guest guest Posted September 23, 2000 Report Share Posted September 23, 2000 I know the site Becky found does not recommend strengthening and stretching, but from my own life it seems that the strengthening and stretching I do has had a most beneficial aspect and has not caused further progression.Whether in the future it will or not I don't know. I also know that from this strengthening and stretching, my mood and general outlook on life is much happier. From my water walking and also gym work, I am now seeing muscles re-developing in my legs. I did fitness walking for 10 years, then with my mother ill and got caught up with her death, et al, then a car accident, I became a bit of a couch potato. Then this recent bout with back pain and my Internist forced me into this new role as a 'gym rat'. I also 'feel' somewhat better balanced when I am standing up in one place. I really enjoy the PT center with its pool and gym and supervised workouts. The Olympics have been a great inspiration to me, just to get moving and keep moving - lol, I am not training for anything.
