Guest guest
Anyone have experience with rage/older child and have used Valtrex? I'm worried about what may happen when I dose the Valtrex. I tried Vitamin A as step #2 a few days ago. His face turned bright red and he raged. It took a bit to calm him down - magnesium, Alka-Seltzer, Capryl, charcoal. He now has a red sore throat with cough and bumps on tongue. No fever. After 1 1/2 yrs of rage the only thing that has worked to control it has been Virastop + Candidase. Since we've started about 5 weeks ago we are steadily increasing - after a while he seems to need more. He's at 15 per day now. Rage in a 14 year old 185 lb boy is not ok. Please help get me ready for the Valtrex so I know what to expect. TIA. Deb
Guest guest
systemic antifungals are Nizoral and Diflucan. Yes, rages can be die off but you can't use it whenever you have a yeast flare. You need to stay on it and rotate between the two when they stop working (learn your child's yeast signs by watching what happens during yeast die off - you can usually pick out one or two things that only happen with yeast die off). I usually have to switch every 4-6 months. Antivirals cause a shift in the immune system from T1 to T2 (or vice versa, can't remember which) but basically it means that it switches from the one that controls yeast to the one that controls most everything else so yeast tends to run rampant.Nystatin can be used while on a systemic but it isn't going to fully control the yeast. Cheryl~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~@midian42~ Can you tell me what you mean by systemic anti-fungal? He takes Nystatin and we have access to Fluconazole although the last time he took it is when the raging really began. What would that mean? That the rage is die-off? He also takes Capryl and Kandidiaplex, also Candidase. Thank you!
