The one that I have only tells you the result once, and tells you when it is

time to place the sample, and the code currently being used. It is not nearly

as accessible as the Prodigy.

meter locally. I may go check it out but wonder if anyone knows if it is a meter

that talks everything for totally blind. They say it talks but I just can't

Hi Vicki,

I had an advocate meter and no it doesn't talk all the way. You have to have a

sighted person set everything up for you. The time doesn't talk and you have to

know what the code is on each box of strips are so you can change the code. I

found that very difficult to do. I would still go with the Prodigy voice.

Where did you order it from? Did you go with one of the 2 companies Ruth has

suggested? I didn't have to pay anything, and I believe that's how it was with

others.

Hi Dave Yes I got it from american wholesale. They had tried to get it through

my doctor but got a note back that I had to get it from Massachusetts and there

could be up to an eight week waiting time for insurance. I talked to soeone in

the doctors office and they wanted to give me another meter, forget the name at

the moment but it did not check out here as being fully accessible. So the best

deal I could think of was buy the thing and use it along with my acucheck, which

is working rather well right now. Tough decisions.
