Guest guest
Hi Ben My son is off the CFGF diet using HNI digestive enzymes. I hated the diet with a vengance and with increasing numbers of foods being withdrawn, it wasn't very healthy either. I have not heard ever of somebody who just stopped at removing gluten and casein.......... The best part is Sam is doing SO much better off diet and on enzymes. We had been on them 9 months prior to chelation and I'm convinced the gut healing and yeast treating properties have smoothed the way gut bug wise. With have flares after some rounds but we are able to sort it in a few days. Check out www.houstonni.com / and brilliant book here and at Amazon www.thundersnow.com/enzymebook.htm Good luck MAndi in UK > Just curious..those of you who have been through many rounds, has > anyone been able to successfully go off the gfcf diet. Guest guest
Hi all, I just read the 2002 book by DeFelice, " Enzymes for Autism and other Neurological Conditions. " It is so much more than just about enzymes, but the enzyme part has convinced me to try the HNI enzymes. It is an easy read and an enjoyable read, although it is 342 pages. I leaned so much from this book and was able to pull many things together. It is not very expensive, too. I will let you know how my 8 year old who has finished her 3rd round of chelation does on the enzymes. She has a helathy diet but a restricted one. The enzymes have the promise of letting her eat lots more foods and be more like her friends. Thanks Mandi for telling us about this. Mandi should write the next book for all of us. in Salt Lake City

Guest guest
Ben, The earlier you start chelating the better. My autistic son still has a very limited diet but if he goes off the reactions are not like they use ot be. My other son was 2 when I chelated him and withinin the first round I was a ble to feed him more foods. He can eat anything now. Milk and noodles were the last to stop giving him problems. nne > Hi Ben > My son is off the CFGF diet using HNI digestive enzymes. Does > chelating help that aspect of the scenario? Yes, we are no longer gfcf over here. We use HNI enzymes, but my kids still had to be gf for about 28 rounds of chelation, they regressed with gluten even with enzymes, altho they were able to have casein again right away. But after round 28 I challenged gluten again [with enzymes] and they do just fine with it now. There are still foods they can't have, even with enzymes, but as chelation is progressing, they are improving in that area also. Guest guest
I would love to take my child off the gfcf diet, but I would not use enzymes on an on-going basis to do so. Enzymes have only been out for a short period of time and their long-term effects are unknown. My son already has enough problems without potentially adding another. As far as casein, a lot of people would be far healthier if they cut milk products out of their diet. There are much superior sources of calcium, fat and protein for children. You've done a great job and must be proud and thankful. I hope we can muster the moxie to see it as far as you have. To think the kid could go to a pizza party someday.... Hi Ben, Another place you may want to look is here: /files/LOVE_LETTERS If you are not familiar with the format of the file, take a couple of minutes to poke around first. Then, you can do " edit | find in page " to look for specific words on the page. For example, look for " GFCF " or " infraction " or " food " . This is inexact, but will lead you to posts about kids with changes in these areas. best wishes, Moria
