[bostonFloortime] Fw: ASD Study at Children's

ASD Research Study at Children’s Hospital Boston

We are a research group at Children’s Hospital Boston studying the possible genetic and environmental causes of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The goal of our study is to better understand why ASDs occur, to increase our ability for early identification, and to find improved treatments. We are collaborating with the Simons Foundation, which includes researchers from hospitals throughout North America, and the Boston based Autism Consortium in this endeavor.

Our team is always looking to identify new families who may be interested in learning about our exciting research opportunities. Eligible families have a child aged 24-months or older with a diagnosis of ASD. We interview all immediate family members, including parent(s), sibling(s) and the child with ASD. Study participation takes approximately 8 hours, and is divided over 2 visits – one at home and one at Children’s Hospital Boston. Parking at the hospital is provided.

Shortly after the visits, families receive a research report of our observations that includes developmental, cognitive, behavioral and social findings.

There are opportunities for all types of interested families to participate in ASD research at Children’s Hospital Boston. For more information, please call at (local) or 1- (toll-free), or email us at ASDResearch@ childrens. harvard.edu

Thank you for your time and we look forward to speaking with you!
