Guest guest
FWIW, nuts are also high oxalate usually, so not a bad idea to cut down on. Chestnut and macadamia are lower ox nuts. Since you're already on OLE, if it's not causing a problem, I wouldn't worry about removing it unless you just want to. I would start Lysine, though. If she has an arginine rich diet, you really need lysine. I give lysine 2x a day. So my son gets a total of 2000mg. There is no toxicity with lysine so you can't hurt by giving too much. During an active cold or something I'll give it 3x day.But one thing to consider - cut back on the arginine. Nuts are pretty high in arginine. You may need to consider the possibility that the SCD diet isn't going to be conducive to a low arginine diet. I dunno, we haven't done SCD in a very long time so I can't remember it but I do remember it being heavy on the nuts and protein. Cheryl~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~@midian42~ Hi All, My daughter (38 pounds, 4 years old) started Valtrex (333 mg X 3 daily) about 10 weeks ago. She had some rashes and a yeast flare and after that we saw good progress. During the thanksgiving week, we started OLE. We started with 500 mg twice daily and the week after that, we increased to 750 mg twice daily. That week she had an IVIG infusion + IV gluthathione and the yeast went out of control. We backed off on OLE (reduced to 500 mg once daily) and we have been on that since then. 10 days ago she re-started HBOT and we had again a yeast flare that we are just finally controlling. We decided to put HBOT on hold for now since we prefer to focus on controlling viruses. My question is about Lyseine. I was reading about how to control Herpes using diet and it seems that a diet high in Arginine and low in Lysine is not recommended to treat/control Herpes. There is a table at this site http://www.globalherbalsupplies.com/herpes/herpes_diet_information.htmshowing the mg of both Arginine and Lysine in the foods. Unfortunately, Sofia's diet is based on meats (in the middle of the table), vegetables and nuts (at the end of the table). She does not eat dairy that are the foods with better Arginine/Lysine ratio. In summary, her diet is high in Arginine which could deplete Lysine and create a good environment for the virus. Her diet is low carb, almost like SCD + potatoes. Her breakfast and snacks usually include a vegetable muffin made of nut flour (I rotate Almond, Cashews and Hazelnut). She also eats pecans as a snack. I got the Lyseine supplement but now I'm not sure if I should stop OLE and introduce Lyseine to balance the Arginine/Lysine ratio or if I should continue with OLE and using the three at same time. What would be your recommendation? What is the recommended dosage of Lyseine for her weight? I really appreciate your feedback.
