Guest guest
Subject: Kirkman antimony contamination It has recently been discovered that some Kirkman Lab products are contaminated with antimony, a potentially toxic metal. The only one of these products that I carried was Zinc liquid. In general, small amounts of antimony are unlikely to cause problems, and I do not know how much antimony was present in the supplements. However, it was enough that it showed up in patients' lab tests. That is not to say that it caused any problems for those children. I would not panic, but it is reasonable to stop using the identified products. You can contact Kirkman and they will refund the cost of the supplements. www.kirkmanlabs.com/ If desired, we can consider testing for this and other metals. Metals testing is complex and the implications unclear. It does not need to be done urgently and would need to be discussed on an individual basis. Sincerely, Dr Linsk Subject: Re: improved gut, but increase in tics/defiant behaviorTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Friday, January 15, 2010, 2:36 PM I think uva ursi shouldn't be used long term. Also, mean or defiant behavior can be bad bacteria. Are you giving probiotics? I also suggest removing one supplement at a time and see if it changes anything.>> we recently added some supplements (MCT oil, syntol, uva-ursi) which simultaneously improved our son's gut (much better bowel movements), but also seems to have triggered or exacerbated some tics, which is very concerning to us. Has anyone seen this? any remedies? does it fade with time? We are also seeing decreased sleep and an increase in defiant behavior. We would've expected behavioral and other improvements with improved gut/bowel movements, not such an increase in tics/stimming? ? Any help/thoughts/ advice would be much appreciated.>
