I'll check to see if I have the neuro's name. I don't know if he's still

looking for people or not, or if he drew any conclusions. Some things are

studied but the results are never published.

The April 1998 issue of the CMTI newsletter had a column with Dr. Greg

. In it he responded to a question about CMTers with megacalves instead

of the bone thin ones most folks have. Crabtree thought they would have

an article about megacalves, but I haven't seen one.

Dr. answered: " That is one of those variant forms of CMT I mentioned.

I have not yet seen anyone with that but know they do exist. "

You might contact him to ask if he's interested in knowing about yours.

This is the latest addy I have for him.

Have you measured them? I'd be interested to know how large they are,

privately.

Hi Kat,

Have you any more information on this

study on large calves? I`d be very

interested as mine just seem to be

getting bigger even tho` I`m fairly

inactive now! As I`ve said before my

doctors don`t understand it and have

gone so far as to say I can`t have CMT

because of my calves.

Joyce.

I too have large calves, and have always been a very fast walker.

Everyone has always told me to slow down, and have trouble keeping up

with me. Does anyone have alot of pain in the anterior (front) part

of the lower leg? I seem to have alot of pain anteriorly just above

my ankle, and it hurts when I flex and extend my foot.

, I can answer yes to both of those, especially to the first,

anterior lower leg pain! It gets worse when I stand or do a lot of walking.
