Anyone have extensive metabolic testing done to help find cause of seizures? If so - who was your doc/lab/tests, etc.? I am not ok with not knowing the unerlying CAUSE of my son's seizures. I feel certain that his neuro is just going to offer me meds with no further investigation.TIA,Cam The New Busy think 9 to 5 is a cute idea. Combine multiple calendars with Hotmail. Get busy.

Cam, I own tie dye and birkies. LMAO I would wear mine unintentionally not realizing. Hehe.Um, , *I* live in Florida! Oh, I don't think I'd bring my OATS test to the neuro. I try to approach them just a little left of what they are doing because I have been dealing with mainstream docs my whole life, I know how they work. Sorry you just got a taste of that. :-(

Our neuro LITERALLY threw the Great Plains OATS test across his desk at me and said " What is this?  I don;'t even know what this is.  I don't understand naturopaths.  It's all hokey. "  I am still reeling.  I think I am going to wear tie-die, berkenstocks and hippie beads to the eeg and maybe ask if I can burn some incense or something just to piss him off.  I'm surprised they don't have marble busts of themselves in their lobbies.

Do you live in FL? I'd swear we went to the same arrogant neuro :) The one I went to is also an expert in metabolics- everything is " nothing to worry about " . plttthht!! We had an amino acid urine test and the report said that further investigation was needed to rule something out- but no its fine- very frustrating. I feel your pain :)

Okay Thanks for that! I laughed out loud :) " Don't read things online " ! How

funny! Basically, Ummmm.....I prefer you to be stupid so you don't question my

greatness! " HAHAHAHA heeeeheeee Doctors visibly wince every time I mention

that I read something online. My husband now reminds me before we go to the

appointment " Don't say you read it online! " So now I try to be PC and say

" What do you think about blah blah blah? " So now they still look at me funny

like " how does she know that? " But atleast they don't look like they are in

pain!

very funny :) still giggling :)

Okay so the leads were taken off today and they use some liquid stuff to disolve

the glue that they use to stick the leads on. Actually to be accurate- they

clean a spot on his head-put goop on the lead and stick it to the clean spot-

then they put tape over the lead with the goop so it doesn't move and then they

gauze up his head so everything stays in place and he can't remove them. So,

because they had this glue remover it went much better than anticipated. The 2

leads on the chest was the rough stuff. So we just left it on until his shower.

It is somewhat sobering in the sense that when the gauze is wrapped around his

head it looks as though he has had a head injury or head surgery or something.

I took a picture so I could remember how lucky I am to have him. Whew!! Glad

its over :) An emotional week.

We already know he has Lyme. Confirmed through Igenex Western Blot last August. Are seizures associated with Lyme? I am on the Borrellia and Multiple Infections chat group too and I have never heard anything about seizures. Would LOVE to know more if you have any info. Thanks,CamTo: mb12 valtrex From: caryn_reid@...Date: Sat, 1 May 2010 01:35:42 +0000Subject: Re: seizures and metabolic testing
