Flo-

Glad to hear the update and to know that things are going so well. I

was the one who asked about the alternative interventions. It's so hard

to decide what to try and what is a waste of time and $. With limited

time, $, and energy, it's hard to balance all the different

considerations -- medical, educational, social, etc.

Your summer focus has me jealous. I had grand plans for the summer, but

have done none of it. If I had assistance in place, I guess it would

have made me stick with the program. Good for you for doing the work it

took to get things in order and then for sticking with it. I am not

good at disciplining myself to get therapies etc done at home.

Take care-

Hi Michele,

My organisational skills have also taken a bashing this year and I have

found myself missing appointments etc. Earlier this year, I looked at my

diary, tried to organise appointments, time off work, childcare etc and felt

like just sitting down and crying. Lots of bad language and glasses of wine

later (over a few days) it all fell into place. Guess the amount of

juggling we have to do does sooner or later overwhelm us and something has

to give. Have thought about counselling several times, but where would I

fit it in? Yikes! Could do without one more thing to diary.

On the subject of therapies, we do not take to anything specifically

for growth. Could never afford to pay for individual therapies. We just

mention it to CS therapist while she is having work done for scoliosis and

other things and to the homeopath while she is treating the endless

childhood things and they both just add the growth etc to their list in the

same sessions. I believe Aubrie has CST? With the positive connection with

the therapist, she is most likely to take all of Aubrie on board in her

treatments, so I would mention even what seems insignificant or trivial. I

only mentioned growth in idle chat while was being treated by both

and it transpired they can do some work. You never know!

It is a real bonus having the help for the summer. There certainly would

be no programmes without it. Guess we were really lucky to have had a great

social worker do lots of hard work on our behalf to access the help and

another one to ensure a signing helper. Can't take anything for granted!

Hope all goes well for you guys over the summer and the hip holds out well

and recovers so your little charmer can get back on course. Thanks to much

advise read on this list, we had 's wrist x-rayed last week to

determine bone age/chronological age discrepancy so she can be referred to

an endo if need be. No results yet but at least the x-rays will be repeated

periodically. I was so impressed with how knowledgable the SpR we saw was

about CHARGE issues. Unfortunately, her consultant and teacher at the

hospital (who has a special interest in a variety of syndromes including

CHARGE) is retiring next year so we will lose a very valuable resourse.

I have started an epistle again while I am supposed to be sorting out the

laundry! Hope things continue in the positive direction for you aoo

.........
