Guest guest
We tried 2 bottles of metal-free without ANY success. We have had success with DMSA and it is much less expensive. Have not had any side effects or yeast issues either. Lori

Anyone have any experience with this or ideas? I used ALA for my kids' chelation. More general information on chelation here http://www.danasview.net/chelate.htm If you can't open any of these sites, send me an email and let me know, I will send you information directly. Guest guest
Welcome to the group. You may be part of the source, but if she got vaccines, they contain mercury in the form of a preservative called thimerosal and there's arsenic in pesticides used on golf courses, orchards, cotton fields in particular; in stain resistance used on carseats, strollers, playpens, upholstered furniture, carpet, etc and on/in weather-treated lumber (often used for decks, patios, and playsets. Try to identify and reduce her other sources of exposure. > I don't have any experience with Metal-Free or even remember the ingreidients but others on the list, including Andy who has a PhD in chemistry have advised against it. Many on the list have used DMSA and/or ALA on children the age of your daughter. You can get both without a prescription. S We have done several lab tests and found out she has high heavy metals<BR> (nickel, arsnic near red, tin, silver, mercury). She is still breast<BR> feeding and I'm doing a hair test--we think I'm probably the source. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> =======================================================<BR>
Guest guest
I am using Metal-Free for seven month on my 5y autistic son, did " Heavy Metal Stool Analysis " before starting treatment and twice after so far. It is pulling large amounts of Uranium (96th percentile 69 before), Antimony (95th percentile 67 before), Beryllium (97th percentile 55 before) but no mercury yet. We went this way because we were not educated enough (and scared) at the time to go with DMSA & ALA and it is supposed to be safe (I talked to several doctors who had treated children and adults with it). I am just finishing reading Andy's book and compared it to the DAN! protocol. A lot of the problems Andy describes are the same DAN! has recognized but his book is from 1998 and DAN! is 2003. It looks like Andy has time, experience and treatment numbers on his side. I also researched mainstream medicine chelation and know now why they are so reluctant to do it(Not much knowledge / training for doctors). I will Go to Autism ONE in Chicago to see Andy's presentation and some other approaches. I like his slow / low approach because of the lower sideeffects. I will start soon with Andy's protocol and tests to find out if we have mercury. I am not sure because our Naturopath gave him homeopathic remedies when our son got diagnosed three years ago because of high Aluminium. At that time we were totally clueless about documenting anything with lab tests. Metal-Free is now pulling everything out that was not listed on the homeopathic product, but with autistic kids and mercury everything seems to be a " little " bit different. Keep your mind open to " different " approaches and if you go that way do lab test before and after. There are people out there that want to take advantage of us but it seems some of the products work for yet unknown reasons. Every parent who did lab test about those products (good or bad) should report them to somebody like the Autism Research Institute (ARI), they collect data for all kind of drugs, minerals, amino acids and so on. We need a better data base!!! Andy's protocol is of course proven and is for a lot of people the " gold standard " Carsten [ ] metal-free I have just joined this group. Unfortunately, my dinosaur computer does not allow me to open attached files so I couldn't read FAQ. My daughter has no formal diagnosis but receives OT for sensory integration type issues. She is 2 1/4 and is very verbal, social and does pretend play. At times she has autistic behaviors: when she is upset she hits her head with her hand, after she eats certain foods she'll repeat herself for 45 minutes or so. She has incredibly high anxiety and is very fearful of a variety of things. The fearfulness and anxiety seem to be getting worse. Many food allergies and is getting new ones--We have started rotary diet. We have done several lab tests and found out she has high heavy metals (nickel, arsnic near red, tin, silver, mercury). She is still breast feeding and I'm doing a hair test--we think I'm probably the source. I found a doctor in environmental medicine who has lots of experience chelating with Metal-Free (a liquid) He thinks it is the safest option for her age. Anyone have any experience with this or ideas? Thanks. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . =======================================================
