Hi Ray,

Pancreatitis is NO fun at all. I am sorry you went through that. Having had

two children, I can say that the pain of pancreatitis is worse than the pain

of childbirth. Are you feeling ok or still worn down from it all?

Take care of yourself!

Hi Rita,

I realize that you asked Ray, but in case he is still recovering, I will

attempt to answer. Pancreatitis pain is in the abdomen, sort of right under the

ribs in front and is excruciatingly intense, much worse than a labor pain. It

comes in waves, and hurts so acutely that it is near impossible to speak or

even to stand up straight.

I don't know how else to describe it. If you have ever had a gallbladder

attack, take that and magnify it 100 times. At least that is how it is for me

when I get it.

Hope that helps. What you are describing sounds like the flank pain that a

number of our members gets. If so, there does not seem to be anything that can

be medically done. I know some of our members have the flank pain which is

so severe it is debilitating, but others, like myself, it is more like an

occasional dull headache, sort of background discomfort.

If that is what you have, I doubt the chest x-ray will show anything. Please

do let us know when you get those results Rita.

Feel better soon!
