Guest guest
I think i'm getting closer to finding out what this flushing is. I now believe it's the l carnatine from Klaire labs. Has anyone experienced this with this product. He got red, hot and flushed over the weekend after taking it! Tia, car

Guest guest
I hope this makes sense! L Carnitine is a transport for Long chain fatty acids across the cell membrane for use by the mitochondria. When it's plentiful, the body will use this for energy -- which could speed up the heart, blood circulation, etc. -- since the skin is a detox pathway, it could be part of why your son is flushed. I can tell you, I have taken L Carnitine w/Chromium before and I was hot and flushed ALL The time. It was very uncomfortable, and I was constantly thirsty... Also, B-3, or Niacin (and Niacinamide)can also cause flushing. Niacin can cause flushing, however, according to my book: The Ultimate Healing System by Nepore, ND, he says that " Niacinamide is similar in effect and theraputic value to Niacin, but does not cause flushing, tingling and itching. " He also notes that has never seen anyone taking Royal Jelly (apparently high in B3) to get a flushing effect. My son had gotten some red rashes while on the B12, and what I found was when I didn't balance his b vitamins, folic acid, iron and zinc, he got a rash, when I got the balance right, he didn't. I think the rash is part of the detox path because B12 is water soluable (so it would stand to reason that it would go out when you urinate or sweat..) If you are taking L-Carnitine too...it might be just overload. So, if you are trying to balance your B Vitamins, it might help to look at B3 too...just a thought. laura > > I think i'm getting closer to finding out what this flushing is. > I now believe it's the l carnatine from Klaire labs. Guest guest
I wondered if he drank a gallon of water like I did...ugh..it's really uncomfortable. and you just can't get cool on the inside... Just a word to the wise, don't throw out the baby with the bathwater..L Carnitine has it's place. You might want to make a lower dosage, and work on balancing the b vitamins. (this should help) and if you are on chromium, take them apart. Or you might try using coq10 w/L carnitine. I found that was tolerable - and take them apart from chromium. There is more than one way to get the desired result without being uncomfortable. Anyway...good luck, this is a tough one... laura > > > > > > I think i'm getting closer to finding out what this flushing is. > > > I now believe it's the l carnatine from Klaire labs.
