Guest guest
Before breakfast I had a fasting glr of 149. Therefore no calculations had to be made regarding pre-prandial dosage of Humalog, since it was lower than 150. So I dosed the prescribed 15 units of Humalog before breakfast of 60 grams of carbs. Next came lunch and the pre-lunch glr of 182 was obtained. So I had to calculate my pre-lunch Humalog dose which is found as follows. 182-100equals 82 divided by 50 equals 1.6 plus a few hundredths and round it off to the whole number of 2, then add two to 15 to get 17 units of Humalog required to dose for a 60 carb grams lunch, which I dosed., then ate the lunch of 60grams of carbs. Then for supper the pre-supper glr of 154 minus 100 equals 54 divided by 50 rounded to the nearest whole number was 1. So the pre-supper dose of Humalog was 21, since I am instructed to dose 20 units of Humalog at supper time. consumed 60 grams of carbs at supper time bedtime glr 90 no Lantus was dosed, since I have the beginning feelings of a low glucose reaction, but I refuse to follow doctors orders of a bedtime lantus dose of 30units of Lantus. I will just wait to see what my morning fasting glr will be. til then, Harry
