Our son sometimes gets a rash around his mouth, and that was even before we

started any kind of chelation (we're doing AC chelation). I've heard these

types of rashes around the mouth could be yeast-related. But our son's also got

much worse during the winter months (and it wasn't even there during the

spring/summer), so for us, I think it may be some yeast but I think it also

might be tied into the weather/seasonal changes. Somewhere I read to rub

coconut oil around the mouth. We've been doing that this winter, and it works

really well, the rash is practically gone. Not sure if that would help, but it

might be worth a shot.

FYI, took my son to the pediatrician and he tested positive for strep and he has

the hand foot mouth disease although looking at the pics of childhood diseases

on the Internet, I think he has Impetigo. He is on an antibiotic for 3 days and

we are putting ointment on the red bumps around his mouth, nose, ears and wrist.

Thanks for all the input.

I have been battling the mouth rash around my son's mouth for about a month. I have been using different clays for about 2 weeks and that seems to be helping more than anything else. I like one in particular that is French green clay. Fortunately my son doesn't touch it, or lick it - probably doesn't like the taste. I started by putting it on after he fell asleep at night, then gently washing it in the morning. I can reapply it when he is awake, but he is resistant to it. Anyway, the rash is about 50% better - less of it, less red, and less inflammation.
