Dear DL,

Thank you for yor kind words, although I don't have any claims to

fame, and I certainly don't claim to be " the man. "

DL, (I don't know who you are since you didn't post your name), but

you're right, there have been those rare occasions when I might

utter a cuss word, my jokes aren't funny, some say I have a gift for

gab, and I do go off on CISM teams who are doing weird stuff, but my

pocketbook and wife would disagree with you on the money part.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion about me and about CISM,

but you've missed the point..........

1. CISM is not a treatment!

2. Crisis Intervention when misused can be harmful.

3. CISD does not prevent PTSD.

4. Not everyone needs the same type of intervention, at the same time

5. I assure some organizations have been overzealous in their

application of CISM

5. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater (just because it's

not appropriate to go on the burn unit and " debrief " burn victims

doesn't mean we quit providing CISM

Now, DL, how about stepping up to the plate and identifying yourself

to the group.
