Dr. Jepson at Thoughtful House recommends taking it. There are mixed reviews out there, but think it would be best to treat your child considering his asthmatic history.

My 11 year old son who has Aspergers just got diagnosed with the flu. He has asthma and has been hospitalized 7 times. He has been doing biomeical treatment with Dr Roa for the past year and has been very healthy since his treatment plan until now. I took him to the ER because his nebulizer treatments have not been doing the job and I wanted to prevent hospitalization. Dr Rao is not on our insurance list any longer, so for accute care we visit the emergency clinic in our neighborhood. My question is, do any of you have an opinion on Tamiflu? I know our DAN! (Dr. Rao) supports it, but before I give it to my son I wanted to get some feedback for those of you with experience with this drug. My son is high functioning, and he is being treated for ADHD, anxiety, acid reflux, mecury/lead toxicity, high herpes viral, high strep, and minor canida. Any input would be great!Connie

Hi Connie,

My 7 yr. old daughter (autistic with phobias) got the flu about a month and a half ago and our pediatrician immediately put her on Tamiflu. She also has asthma and uses a nebulizer, but has never had an attack and been hospitalized.

I got the Tamiflu compounded into a liquid. My daughter became more alert and experienced increased language and better comprehension when she was taking this anti-viral med. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly she bounced back from the flu along with the positive side effects. Because of her experience with this anti-viral med., I'd like to try some of the natural anti-virals that many people have posted about.

I have heard that some people experience the opposite too...loss of comprehension, speech...regression symptoms, but that may be symptoms caused by die off.

Best of luck,

Karmen

Thank you for posting your experience. My son is already on Valtrex and we have also had lots of gains. I forgot to mention in my original post that this is day 3 of the symptoms.. Everything I've read said that it must be given in the first 2 days for it to be effective. We are already on day 3, so I don't know if it will do anything, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.
