Guest guest
Both of my celiac sons had dark stools at the beginning of the diet which followed with their first solid stools of their lives. It was so strange to see both of them following the same patterns stoolwise. They have not had dark stools since the first month of SCD. I believe Elaine told me at the time it was a sign of die-off. > > Well, to answer Liberty's question... Dark stool could be due to > > blood (hope not!!!!) or could be something you ate. Guest guest
That could be. This particular child has had diarrhea most of his life but pretty good stools since SCD. He has only a few times had marble poop. This last time was after a night of vomiting. I think he had the flu as opposed to food because the next day I was horribly sick. I could not even lift my head off the pillow. It was surprising to see though because I was expecting diarrhea. > > I also wish there was some guide to say what is normal and what is > > not. Guest guest
) I started have the very dark, almost black but > still formed stools (never had a diarrhea problem) yesterday and > still did again this morning. What does the black stool mean? > When people take Pepto Bismal (not SCD legal) the Bismuth causes dark stools. Dark stools can be an indication of internal bleeding.h Here is a medical reference. Note hemmorroids can be the cause. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003130.htm#Common%20Causes Carol F.
