Guest guest
Try zinc supplement. Sometimes people say it could be a mineral deficiency. I wonder why my daughter keeps putting everything in her mouth. She is already four. I read someone saying that has to do with fungus infection. -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states.
Guest guest
I agree with the zinc. My son is also a mouther and is 4 yrs old. When we increased zinc it got much better but didn't completely eliminate it. He used to come from school with his jacket zipper chewed to pieces. Now we get some chewing on sleeves every once in a while. > > I wonder why my daughter keeps putting everything in her mouth. She is already four. Guest guest
Im actually glad you brought this up... I hadn't been supp'ing zinc for about a week or two... and my son has started mouthing things again... I didn't initially think anything but now I realize... and his zinc levels are actually in range... so not really sure what is going on there... but going to take my own advice LOL and started the zinc back up again... Guest guest
My daughter who is 27 months old also is always chewing on something, she has been on Zinc and alot of other supplements for 4 months and she is mouthing less but still does it enough to drive me crazy. I asked my da and she said either yeast or heavy metals could be causing her to do it, when I asked about Zinc she told me that she never heard Zinc would cause this so who knows. I do tell her yucky and pull it away from her mouth. when I see her doing it. Good Luck, > > > > > > I wonder why my daughter keeps putting everything in her mouth. She is > > already four. Guest guest
I have quite a bit of experience with this. There have been several different issues behind the mouthing for my daughter. At one time, her zinc levels were low. I gave her zinc monomethionine and it worked. When I started MB 12 shots it got really bad, even the pill form of B12 caused it. It is only supposed to be temporary when the mb 12 is the culprit, but it got so bad that i had to stop the shots. I had to buy her all new shirts. Low iron, almost like a pica issue, can also be a culprit. Iron levels need to be tested, a supplement shouldn't be given without knowing whether the levels are low. And of course, yeast and metals are the culprits in so many situations, makes it very frustrating. When my daughters yeasty symptoms come back i.e. toe walking, butt rash, dark circles and spinning, the mouthing sometimes coincides. Process of elimination folks!!!!! It's our full time job!!! Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
For zinc supplementing shoot for body weight plus 20 in mgs. So if your child weighs 50 lbs, give 70 mg of zinc. The toys will quickly disappear from the mouth of your babe, lol. Also if anyones child is having trouble with transitions and aggression try the elemental lithium drops, start w/ one drop and work up, good stuff. > > > > > > I wonder why my daughter keeps putting everything in her mouth.
