Guest guest
Hi Pam, Thanks! I've only just subscribed and have learned so much already...I am shocked at the insurance hassles families have in the USA. We think we have it bad here in Australia, but at least Medicare here takes care of most costs and I am unaware of any family having to go through the hoops that you do! Looking forward to seeing all of you at the DBI World Conf here in 2007! We are hoping for a large CHARGE delegation. Guest guest
Hi Sharon: There are certainly many parents and individuals with CHARGE to learn from, and new issues with CHARGE keep unfolding. As a professional, you may in time find it easier to read from the yahoo CHARGE listserv website instead of individual e-mail, usually the topic area is highlighted accordingly so you can pick and choose, or catch up on issues. If you haven't asked already, I shall encourage you to join the professional DbI CHARGE network listserv as well, I think is the moderator for that to sign into. Ann Gloyn Deafblind and Spec.Ed. Guest guest
Thanks Ann, I have tried to join the other list too, but have not been able to connect for some reason...I'll contact privately for assistance. Thanks. Even in the few short days I've read from this list, I am overwhelmed at the enormous strength of character of the children/young adults and the depth of knowledge families have gained...yes, we have a lot to learn from these kids and their parents! A great list. Thank you. >Hi Sharon: There are certainly many parents and individuals with >CHARGE to learn from, and new issues with CHARGE keep unfolding. Guest guest
Sharon, No, I did not go to DBI, because I had been to CHARGE (can't have everything!). So, my name will be in the school " hat " for the next DBI and hopefully I will be picked. The Carribean--how lovely to think of that!! Have a blast and GO! Learn from the Moms here who remind us all to take care of ourselves!! I am going to Cape Cod next week and the visualization is getting me through the fracas of the Democratic National Convention which is basically in my back yard right now, as well as overhead with the helicopters and fighter jets protecting the Fleet Center in Boston (less than 2 miles from my house, so I guess they are protecting me, too!). Cheers. pam

Guest guest
Pam, Is Boston as " crazy " as the media makes it sound. I can't imagin being 2 miles from all that craziness. Can you get out and about or are you " house bound " . Makes me glad to be out in the middle of no where on my dirt road and farm. It's at least 10 miles to just about anywhere I need to go. I like that way. Hang in there and enjoy Cape Cod. I've never been there. Lynn RE: FW: Welcome to CHARGE Sharon, No, I did not go to DBI, because I had been to CHARGE (can't have everything!).
