Guest guest
Hi Pam, Thanks! I've only just subscribed and have learned so much already...I am shocked at the insurance hassles families have in the USA. We think we have it bad here in Australia, but at least Medicare here takes care of most costs and I am unaware of any family having to go through the hoops that you do! Looking forward to seeing all of you at the DBI World Conf here in 2007! We are hoping for a large CHARGE delegation. Guest guest
Hi Sharon: There are certainly many parents and individuals with CHARGE to learn from, and new issues with CHARGE keep unfolding. As a professional, you may in time find it easier to read from the yahoo CHARGE listserv website instead of individual e-mail, usually the topic area is highlighted accordingly so you can pick and choose, or catch up on issues. If you haven't asked already, I shall encourage you to join the professional DbI CHARGE network listserv as well, I think is the moderator for that to sign into. Ann Gloyn Deafblind and Spec.Ed. Guest guest
Dear Sharon, I can't believe DBI will be in Australia--how cool is that!! I am hoping to go--a bit nervous about the length of the trip, but should be WELL worth it!! I am now officially on vacation--we don't go back to school until Aug 30--I am a happy girl! take care and hope to see you --sooner than 2007--are you coming this way at all? pam
Guest guest
Dear Lynn, YES!! Boston was as crazy as they said! Although, it seems like there really was a mass (excuse the pun!) exodus, so many of the roads were empty. Downtown is where most of the action was, but there were parties and speeches , etc, that extended to my part of the river, too. I walked over to the Fleet Center to see/be in the middle of it all. It was fun seeing the celebrities arrive and to see the hoopla around the protesters, etc. I must say, that the hype around the protest area was overblown--while it was cordoned off, it really wasn't as cage like as they made it sound. And... it was relatively empty because the protesters refused to go in. They were protesting the protest zone--kinda funny really. Anyway, life is back to normal and I can now go and get my hair cut because the roads are open to traffic. I will bid Cape Cod a hearty hello for you.
