Guest guest
Jody, The nut butter that I grind at the store comes out with little bumps of almod or peanut, so I guess it is fine crunchy consistency... I have tried to make almond butter in the coffee grinder, but still comes out gritty and not smooth (I know... I will not make a living as an almond butter manufacturer). And the point is? Well, my son is passing little white speckles in his stool, and I guess they are undigested almond or peanut flour or butter. I was looking for some other recipe to make waffles, because that is what he wants to eat!!!! Coral I just bought a bunch of walnuts. How hard is it to make butter or flour out of walnuts? Guest guest
Coral, I have had that problem as well with Abby ........stools full of white specks. I would like to know if this is common since nuts are such a huge food source on SCD? Have been using cashew due to the salicylate problem and actually a lot of it since we don't use peanut or almond. Sometimes I use pecan but still have the white flecks. Can anyone comment on this and does this signify a problem with using nuts. Kathy > > And the point is? Guest guest
Hi Coral, We use pecans ground up to make our muffins, basically following the banana muffin recipe from scdrecipe.com. The nuts are ground up with 6 eggs and honey for 4 MINUTES in the food processor, and are in such fine bits by the end, they're like a very fine flour. We haven't had a grainy poop problem with them. We hardly use any almond flour. Sue (From Pickering) Mom to , 4.5, formerly? ASD, SCD since March '
