Jenn,

The ZEST of the orange is JUST the orange outer skin. You do NOT want the

white pith beneath it as that is very BITTER. They sell zesters in most

stores (even the MARTs).

As for pine needles, yes, the ones from outside will work fine. Be sure to

take them from the tree to get fresh ones (lots of smell).
