You do NOT want the white pith beneath it as that is very BITTER. They sell zesters in most stores (even the MARTs). As for pine needles, yes, the ones from outside will work fine. Be sure to take them from the tree to get fresh ones (lots of smell). Ida -- Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are stiffened. -- Graham > Ok.. I was thinking this would be a good idea for my moms center piece and > therefore an easy gift.. but how do i make orange zest.. do i just take > orange peel and grate it? we dont have a tree this year.. too broke and we > will be gone for xmas week mostly anyway... so pine needles from the trees > outside will work??! right? and the cranberries are for color right?
