Guest guest
Offer her something more nutritious like a banana instead, Lesley. Mine often pull this trick, just before we are going somewhere suddenly demanding something to eat. Their idea is usually a biscuit, packet of crisps, etc. I offer a banana or an apple or nothing. They usually go for the banana after a huge whinge!! If you persevere with this strategy, she'll get the message. Alison DD2 is up to her food tricks again. The latest is to eat little or no breakfast then just before nursery at 12.45 she refuses lunch and demands a biscuit instead. She *knows* my choice is between her attending nursery having had nothing to eat or send her with the knowledge she at least has a choccie biccie or crisps in her tummy. I have refused the biscuits so far but would like some coping strategy to get her to eat something. I'm sure the nursery must think she is neglected as not only does she not eat, she refuses to wear any socks or jacket since the good weather last week! Everybody at school must think the same of me as DS3 refuses to wear coat, hat, gloves and often even a jumper throughout the year, and often appeared in the playground in just a t-shirt all through the winter. I tried to make it clear that it was *his* choice by permanently having his coat hanging off the pushchair handle and asking him in a loud voice if he was sure he didn't want his coat on now. At the end of the day though, I figure that he's not coming to any real harm, and if it avoids a battle and a tantrum he can have his own way. Guest guest
Cheese is the thing she will go for but she will cut off her nose to spite her face, that one, and go without just to be annoying. I am determined to be determined, IYKWIM!! Lesley ---------------------- Offer her something more nutritious like a banana instead, Lesley. 's like this, she runs around in summer dresses in the depths of winter and says " I *like* cold " to all attempts to get her to wear any more. Mind you she never stands still so I suppose it does keep her warm. Lynda - you're keen. Congrats! Cerys
