Guest guest
did the pattern just start? if so you need to test 6-8 weeks after symptoms appear to get a possitive test result. OCD causes I'm trying to rule out any other possible causes for my son's OCD behaviors.I know strep can be underlying for this. (negative on the blood tests) I'm wondering about other causes for OCD....yeast (we're treating that right now with Nystatin), metals (none), viruses (treating with OLE and elderberry). We do high doses of inositol, which controls it for the most part, but I can see when my son gets anxious, the OCD patterns return. Is there anything I'm missing?Nanci
Guest guest
My local DAN! just told me that an imbalance in neurotransmitters can contribute to OCD. I have been seeking a remedy also b/c this is my son’s biggest problem. His strep levels are down and yeast under control, but we have seen no improvement. We are going to test the neuro levels next. Guest guest
This is a very good idea, Heidi. We did this years ago, and used the results to fine tune supplements to raise the neurotrans that were low. Very helpful, and not too expensive. You don't have to buy the exact brand supplements they recommend - just look at what's in them and you can find less expensive forms. The test we ran was at neurorelief.com, I think their testing is good. Terri > > My local DAN! just told me that an imbalance in neurotransmitters can > contribute to OCD. Guest guest
Yes, low serotonin can contribute to OCD behaviors. We typically see a decrease with 5HTP. We also saw decrease with Cat's Claw, Inositol, and decreasing histamines (many supps helped with this). Guest guest
No, he's had it for years. Guest guest
What in the Mindlinx do you think is doing this to your son? I specifically wanted to get my son on Mindlinx because I remember Heidi N saying it helped her child's OCD go away.
