Guest guest
W. I am 52 (will be Jan. 16) and have never really been thin. But have put on more weight and the years have passed. Now is the time to change. I see my older relatives falling prey to weight induced diseases and don't really want to join them in the trend. Look forward to your posts and keeping up with your progress. Will share mine as we go along. Barb New and want to say Hello.. I have been looking for an active support system since the one I was with kind of dwindled away. I am 55 years old and gained large amounts of weight when I quit smoking three years ago. Well, almost 50 pounds which was large to me. I don't mean one has to gain when quitting smoking, but I had no idea how hard it was going to be to lose. And I had not really binged before, which I have been known to do now. I recently lost 20 of the pounds, but came under a great deal of stress on the job, quit job and got a new one, and gained. I weighed in this morning and was up 3 more pounds which puts me at 173 with a goal weight of 135, which at 5'3" is reasonable. My plan is to journal, oh no I hate this, and cut back to reasonable portions of the pyramid. And exercise. I started back on that this week, though not how often I had planned. Or rather, last week. Thanks for letting me share with this group, and I will try to add a word of wisdom {or nonsense as the case may be} every so often. W.
