-- Monday Weigh-in

Hello,Thank you all for your kind words especially about my dear .I went in for my weigh-in this morning and lost another pound...making my total weight loss 30.5 lbs. The great thing is that and I went to his friends' home yesterday. I had a little of everything had made for our buffet-style luncheon: mini venison chimichangas (3), refried beans with sour cream, cheddar cheese and guacamole, salsa, pasta salad and a small slice of strawberry-topped cheesecake. said he was so proud of me because I denied myself nothing, including the cake, but kept well within my points...when I figured it out that evening, the meal was 11-13 points. That's what has been great about WW. I've learned to make wise choices. An example is bringing points down on things by using fiber-rich foods. I love rice...but I also love other grains. Cooked white rice is 4 pts/cup. Cooked brown rice is 4pts/cup. However, Basmati brown rice is 3 pts/cup. I love barley, wild rice and grains such as Quinoa all of which are high in fiber. By adding these grains to my basmati brown rice, I cut the points down to 2 pts/cup as well as making the grains tastier and more nutritious.BTW, there was talk of the use of flavoring oils as opposed to extracts. I found a great place on the internet called Sutton's Bay Trading Company. Their prices were very good. $3.75/ounce. And they are wonderful. I've been cooking with them and the smells are amazing. I recommend them highly.http://www.suttonsbaytrading.com/I wish each and every one of you a great New Year! May it bring us all what we desire.Cris
