Guest guest
Life for Patty is sure interesting lately. Since she made the trip to NY INDEPENDENTLY she is more secure with her abilities. It's a good thing. She is understanding her limitations and her self advocacy skills better than ever. We also got the verification from the MA Commission for the Blind that she is certified as being blind in the state of MA! Yea, now hopefully things will move faster for her. Sad news is my brother suffered a tremendous medical problem. Two years ago because of a rare genetic condition (dermatomyocitus sp?) he had a major stroke which destroyed 40% of his brain, though to the normal person you would never know it. A few weeks ago he had another nrurological problem. My mother is going out to CA to visit him. But he asked for Patty to come out too. He wants to see her because she is his inspiration. When the chips are down she gets up swinging. He is doing the same. Both are my heroes. Anyway, yesterday my mother and Patty flew out there. They had a layover in Cincinatti. After getting off the plane my mother was guiding Patty to the bathroom. Pat had her hand on my mothers arm and was using her cane. Mother guided her into the bathroom and as she and Patty were going to go into the stalls Patty looked around. My mother guided her right into the mens room! Patty was horrified. She said for now on she will guide my mother. How funny is that one! I can just imagine how hard they laughed. The two are quite a pair.
