The issue is that some people receive one email per day. this is called digest

mode. Every message is in one email. When people respond and respond and

respond, to the same message thread, sometimes long trails of old messages make

a single email message (as in the one digest email message sent once a day) a

very long, and redundant, message.

moderation request

To whomever moderates this list,

Every couple of weeks or so I find myself posting a request that people

trim old messages from threads which drag long trains of old postings

along. After a request is made to trim posts people are kind enough to do

so for a number of days but soon new long trains are forming.

At present there are 3 or 4 such long trains. The 'blind diets, was

introduction' one for example even after a subject line change continues to

carry up to 12 additions back to the original post in some versions.

Hi Dave and all, well, yours ia good idea. But I just want to throw in here

that with some digests, and I don't get this in a digest, there are headings, so

you just push h and either read the message or push h again, right through the

digest, skipping repeats and unwanted mail. I have one like that Nd I'm

assuming there others. it is very easy. But of course much better to not depend

on everyone having that feature in the digest or a computer set up to to that.

Just a quick mention here.
