Guest guest
Congratulations ! We all were wondering about you!! The nursing will get better! Just keep making sure you have the latch down right! The afterpains are much worse with #2. When I had Amber I did not need any pain medication, with Austin, I took them regularly! Not sure why this happens, any ideas gals? It should subside soon. You are on the right track! Keep feeding on demand & try to rest, rest, rest! Great birth story, I wish I had fast births!!! Keep us posted!! Cristina Mom to Amber 7/11/94 & Austin 10/31/

Guest guest
Yeah , Good job. What a beautiful name. You did such a great job. Lanolin is great for sore nipples. Short frequent nursings help to. I am so glad you had a great experience and you did it so fast. I am a very slow birther so I am envious. Hang in there and gets lots of rest. Wendi The Newest Arrival!!!! It's a girl!! Angel Born March 4, 1999 12:27 PM 7 lbs 11 oz (and they said it was a small baby...LOL) 19 3/4 inches (maybe they really ment short...LOL) Tons of dark black hair As you all know I was induced b/c I was 11 days late. They started pitocin at 7:30 am. I didn't get anymore contractions then I normally get for a while. At 11 my water started leaking on it's own and I got contractions I had to breathe through. Next thing I know I was in soooo much pain!! My contractions were right on top of each other!! They checked my and said I was at 5 and could have a epi. They went to call the doc and by the time she got back (5 mins later) I was screaming I had to push. She told me I didn't but she would check me anyways. Well, I was 10!! In 5 mins I went from 5 to 10!!! (I was 3 when I went in). Well, I had no time for an epi, no time for any pains meds, I went totally drug free excpet of course the pitocin. I got two internal and one external stitch. The doc didn't even make it. Even the house doc didn't get there on time. The nurses and a midwife delvivered her. It was a great experince!! As for the nursing! It is hard, very hard. My son " knew " how to nurse. We just clicked, I was engorged only once and never had sore nipples cept from thrush. She nursed right after birth. She was a hungry one. I am having a hard time getting her to latch on correctly. My nipples hurt like hell. I am so full and hard and engorged and it hurts every time she eats. Plus, these contractions/cramping from nursing are killing me. I was on good drugs in the hospital but now I am home with OTC meds and in so much pain. I am trying to keep a good attitude and nurse through this but it's gonna be tough!! Well, that is it for now. Guest guest
Cristina, It happens because the uterus has farther to go to get back to the normal size. It needs to work a little harder with each pregnancy to return to its shape. , You could keep drinking your raspberry leaf tea to help tone your uterus and get it back in shape. Guest guest
, CONGRATS! We are all so glad to hear she is finally here. Your story is a great one! You went quickly! I am sorry to hear that nursing is hard this time around. You know all of the tricks though. These ladies have shared some great ideas. Let those hormones settle down and you will be fine eventually. It is always the hardest in the beginning.

Guest guest
, HAPPY BIRTH DAY TO ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you. Sorry to hear she's not the best latcher on-er. I know how you feel. Some of my 5 latched on right away and nursed like pros. Others we had to work. The good thing is now you know what you're doing. Since you and had such a great nursing experience. Just remind yourself you know how to do this and you need to teach her. Bless you for your stamina. YEA!!! YEA!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!
